Wyandotte County Lake - All photos by Jim Mason Wyandotte County Lake is situated at the northwest edge of Kansas City, Kansas, in a setting of hillside oak-hickory woodlands and lakeside sycamores. The 300 acre lake was constructed in the 1930's by the Functions Development Administration. There are many pullouts on the loop drive for seeing woodland wildlife along with a bridle/hiking path around the lake.
